Butler House boasts thirteen special rooms and suites, all with their own individual character. Designed to provide maximum comfort, each has a modern bathroom, and is decorated with soft coordinated fabrics and furnishings.
The balance of old and new is prevalent throughout the rooms – contemporary furnishings are combined with the magnificent original features, which afford our guests an impressive sense of comfort and space.
Our spacious superior rooms and suites have bow windows, which overlook the secluded gardens and Kilkenny Castle.

The Presidential Suite is made up of four separate rooms – a very spacious bedroom and sitting room. Bathroom with bathtub and shower overhead and a kitchenette with a refrigerator and microwave. The bedroom & lounge have large bow windows with lovely views of the walled garden and Kilkenny Castle. The presidential suite is also the only bedroom at Butler House with original decorative plasterwork ceilings and wall panels, and two magnificent fireplaces!
Superior Double Rooms & Superior Family Rooms are very spacious bedrooms with large bathrooms – all with shower and bathtub. All have large bow windows with lovely views of the walled Georgian garden and Kilkenny Castle. All Superior family rooms contain one queen bed and two single beds.
Standard Double Rooms – decorated to the same high standard as superior rooms and including all the same facilities, with the exception of the garden view, these rooms overlook the city.
Standard rooms also vary in size, many are very spacious with two beds, and some are more intimate with one queen bed. All have bathrooms with shower and bathtubs and some have additional features e.g. larger/sunken bathtubs, original fireplaces, high-corniced ceilings, etc
