Christmas Wreath Project - Butler House Christmas Garden

This year, we have a very special addition to the Christmas Garden at Butler House – a beautiful display of Christmas Wreaths made by local Community Groups as part of a project the Kilkenny Civic Trust undertook with Community Education Kilkenny (Kilkenny & Carlow ETB)

Siobhan OBrien, the Community Education Facilitator at Kilkenny & Carlow ETB worked closely with Anthony Drohan, Facilities Manager at the Kilkenny Civic Trust and a network of Tutors on this fantastic project.

The offer of doing a wreath was suggested to the many groups who work annually with Community Education. The response was fabulous with 17 groups – and a total of 20 wreaths being created.  UCasadh in Ferrybank who have close links to Community Education made templates for the wreaths and the stands they stand on here today. There was no brief and design was left to the group themselves.

Kilkenny and Carlow ETB are very proud to be associated with this project.  The excitement from the groups can be almost felt when you look at the creations.

A special word of thanks goes to the tutors who worked on this project - Eva Holmes, Betty Holden, Graham Carew, Mairead Holohan, Owen Fox & Rachel Burke, and a huge thank you to Anthony, Tomasz, Andy & Tommy from the Butler House Team who brought the project to life in the Christmas Garden at Butler House.
