An Evening to Settle Into
Your stay begins in a Garden View Room, looking out over the walled garden with the Kilkenny Castle rising beyond. It’s a view that changes with the light, calm and steady, and it sets the tone for the night ahead. Supper is served in the Garden View Room, and the menu is comfortingly familiar. Many guests return for the Beef and Guinness Hot Pot, slow-cooked and deeply warming. Butler House is home to just seventeen bedrooms, each individually designed with comfort very much in mind. Every room has its own character, shaped by the house itself rather than a template. No two are quite the same, but all share a sense of ease and thoughtfulness.
Contemporary comforts sit easily alongside original architectural details, while carefully chosen furnishings and artwork, including pieces from the Basil Goulding Art Collection, add warmth and quiet interest. Some rooms enjoy views of the walled garden or towards Kilkenny Castle, others open through bow windows or French doors, all offering a calm and comfortable place to rest.
